What this site is
Elden Ring Build Planner is a free, independent fan project built by players who enjoy the planning side of Elden Ring as much as the playing. The centrepiece is an interactive build planner and character calculator that lets you choose a starting class, allocate your eight attributes, and instantly see your rune level, the runes required to reach it, and your equip-load roll category.
Alongside the tool, we publish practical guides on classes, attributes, soft caps, rune levels, equip load and popular build archetypes. Everything is designed to help you commit attribute points on purpose instead of guessing at a Site of Grace and regretting it later.
Our approach to accuracy
We only implement calculations we can support with reliable, verified data. Your rune level, the rune cost curve and the equip-load roll thresholds all follow the game's own rules, cross-checked against community sources. Where the underlying data is unstable or patch-dependent — most notably weapon attack rating and per-item scaling — we deliberately leave it out rather than show numbers that could mislead you.
That honesty is a design principle, not a limitation we are hiding. The planner is a reliable instrument for the parts of a build that follow stable rules, and we point you to an up-to-date wiki for live combat figures. Used together, they cover everything you need to plan with confidence.
